It's All About the Jeans
How to choose the right pair of jeans
Once you determine what style of jeans flatters your body shape and what color of jeans you're interested in, that still leaves you with a fairly large variety of choice. There are all sorts of designer jeans brands to choose from with slight style variations and all sorts of bells and whistles. But how do you know just which pair of jeans is going to look the best on you?
In the first place, once your jeans are delivered or you buy them at the store, try them on and check out a few things. Jeans are designed to flatter, among other things, your butt. So, seriously, don't be afraid to look in a mirror and stare intently at how your butt looks in the jeans. You want it to look good, so go ahead and look.
After that, you want to make sure that your jeans don't pucker a lot on the front. Unless it's the style, the jeans should not be excessively wrinkled or folded over your belly. Also, look at the back of the jeans and make sure there isn't too much puckering over the small of your back. You don't necessarily want the whole world to see you underwear when you bend down.
The next thing to check out is the length of your jeans. Ideally you should wear shoes with the average size heel you tend to wear while trying the jeans on. Make sure the jeans are nice and long, but that you're not going to trip. Of course, if the jeans are a bit off on length but fit well otherwise, you can usually get them lengthened or shortened fairly inexpensively at your local tailoring shop.
Finally, spend some time walking around and sitting in the jeans. Do the jeans tighten so much when you sit that you can barely breathe? If the jeans are not preshrunk, they need to start out a bit too big (but don't go too far!). Once you find the right pair of designer jeans, it's time to put them on and strut your stuff.
