What's the best way to wash your jeans?
While most people just throw their jeans in the washer and dryer, you can make your favorite pair of designer jeans last a lot longer with a little extra care. Because let's face it, good jeans can be pricey. And even more so, no one likes to have to throw out their favorite jeans because they finally have holes so big you can see through them! So take better care of your jeans with the following jeans care tips.
Don't forget to empty out the jeans pockets. No one likes to find shredded receipts or coins in the washer. It's not good for the machine or the jeans.
Wash your jeans in cold or warm water instead of hot. It will extend the life of your jeans quite a bit.
Turn your jeans inside out before throwing them into the washing machine to keep them from wearing on the outside.
For dark jeans, add a spoonful of salt to help prevent the color from fading.
Don't put more than four pairs of jeans in the washing machine at one time. Jeans are heavy materials and too much pairs of jeans will interfere with the movement of the washer.
Skip the bleach when washing your jeans. Why add the extra irritant when you don't need to?
Air dry your jeans over the back of a chair or outside if possible instead of putting them in the dryer. The jeans will be a bit stiffer when you first put them back on, but they'll last a lot longer.
Use the gentle cycle of the washing machine to protect your jeans.
Turn your jeans right side out before leaving them to air dry so that they retain their proper shape.
